With HiYo shortcuts, you can use emoticons to express your feelings in an immediate, convenient and amusing fashion. The HiYo shortcut automatically suggests an emoticon that’s appropriate for the word you are typing, while you are typing it!

For example, if you type the word ‘Love’ and click the space key on your keyboard, one of a large variety of emoticons (related to love) will replace the emoticon on your HiYo toolbar.

Pressing the ‘Ctrl + Space’ keys on your keyboard will insert the emoticon right after the word you have typed and the next time you type that word, a different emoticon will appear.

How can I use personal shortcuts?

In addition to HiYo’s default shortcuts, you can create your own shortcuts to your most practical emoticons by following the steps below:

    1. Click the ‘Emoticons’ icon on your HiYo toolbar.
    2. Using the mouse, hover over the thumbnail of the emoticon you wish to create a shortcut to. A chevron will appear at the bottom of the thumbnail (marked in red). Click on it and select the ‘Edit Shortcut’ option (marked in blue).

    3. In the field that appears below the ‘Edit Shortcut’ option, type the shortcut you wish to have for this specific emoticon and click ‘OK’.

The next time you type this word, the emoticon will appear as a suggestion. Pressing the ‘Enter’ key on your keyboard will send the emoticon.

  9. What is the ‘Content Suggestion’ option?

When typing specific key words, HiYo suggests content that suits the text you are typing; this content is shown on the Emoticons button – the button changes to an emoticon suitable to what you have written.
